James Reaney

At Lerner Associates, James is responsible for leading, sourcing and origination efforts. He has a passion for connecting founders to the right partners to achieve succesful and meaningful exits. James is often on the road meeting founders, whether he is visiting cities across the U.S. or attending industry conferences, and enjoys getting to know the people and stories behind the businesses he works with.

Following three years as an analyst in public equities at a family office, James began his career in M&A at Bainbridge, a leading buyside advisory firm, where he worked with top private equity firms and family offices globally to source new platform and add-on investment opportunities. He later joined Alpine Investors, where he supported the growth of two key platforms: Evergreen Services Group, focused on tech-enabled services, and Predictis, a data-driven vertical SaaS platform acquiring and scaling category-leading software businesses across specialized end markets.

James has led and supported M&A efforts across the U.S., Canada, and Australia/New Zealand, developing deep expertise in tech-enabled services, vertical SaaS, data infrastructure, and PropTech. He has a track record of building trusted relationships with founders and industry leaders, guiding them through strategic transactions with a thoughtful, hands-on approach.
