The Role

We are looking for a Junior Investment Banking Associate to join our growing team and support the execution of live M&A transactions. This role is ideal for someone early in their work career, with a background in financial or management accounting, who is looking to transition into investment banking longer term.

As part of a lean and collaborative team, you will work closely with more senior team members and deal leads, to support all aspects of sell-side mandates, from discovery and business financial review, to materials and data room preparation, target buyer research and supporting the overall due diligence and transaction process.

You’ll be supported with hands-on mentorship to grow into the role – prior experience in investment banking is not required.

(We will consider a more experienced candidate.)

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Support deal leads in executing live M&A transactions.
  • Support the business discovery process in reviewing and learning the client business, with a particular focus on financial and management accounts ,and other business KPI’s and metrics relevant to a SaaS and tech business.
  • Assist in the creation of high-quality client and buyer materials, including:
    • Teasers and pitch decks
    • Information Memoranda (CIMs)Management presentations
    • Light financial modelling
  • Conduct detailed company, industry, and buyer research to inform marketing and outreach strategies.
  • Build and format PowerPoint presentations and Excel-based analyses to a professional standard.
  • Support data room management and prepare due diligence materials.
  • Maintain clear and professional communication with clients, buyers, and internal stakeholders.

  • You excel at managing multiple priorities, ensuring follow-ups don’t slip through the cracks.

 

Required:

  • ACA, ACCA, or equivalent UK or US accounting qualification (or a Finance degree with demonstrable evidence of accounting capability and experience).
  • 2 years of experience in financial or management accounting. (We will consider a more experienced candidate.)
  • Strong working knowledge of accounting principles and financial statements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a methodical working style.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Confident, professional, and presentable in client-facing situations.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple workstreams under pressure.

 

Desirable, but not required:

  • Exposure to SaaS business models and associated metrics (ARR, churn, LTV:CAC, etc).
  • Previous experience in M&A, transaction services, or corporate finance.
